When you treat yourself to a custom, hand-made piece of garden art or landscape art, you're investing in the therapeutic powers of outdoor living. The integration of garden art or landscape art can also be architectural (aka, landscape architecture), when you wish to hide a poll pump or hide an (a/c) airconditioning unit you can design, build and install a beautiful obstruction screen or decorative screen to hide the eye sore. A water fountain or water feature can be used to mask the sounds of traffic or neighbor noise. Built-in outdoor furniture like a seating wall can also have architectural landscape significance.

It's always a good time to walk around the garden (yard or landscape) to see if you find any "empty" spaces. An empty space means there's probably a good spot in your garden that could use a garden sculpture, piece of landscape art like a bird bath, fountain, custom bird feeder, water fountain, water feature or even a wall hanging.

Functional art, such as an artistic piece of patio furniture or sculpture that you can interact with is also a great option, such as a guitar sculpture or music sculpture in which you can make sounds with.
